Academy Central
Internet High School
Enrollment, Tuition, and Other Requirements
Academy Central High School makes use of a large number of educational courses and facilities all persons can access on the World Wide Web of the Internet. While making use of those course and library materials, Academy Central provides as its part the necessary teacher contact, tutoring, academic testing and record keeping services for its enrolled and diploma-bound students.
Enrollment as a student in Academy Central High School is optional; that is, if a student wants to graduate here with a high school diploma, formal enrollment is necessary. Otherwise, it is not.
To enroll in the school, the prospective student is required to provide Academy Central High School with written permission (on our special form) for our school to obtain an official transcript of student achievement from the most recent school attended. This permission form is provided to the student by Academy Central and there is no extra cost to the student in our obtaining a transcript. In the event that an applicant prefers to not provide this permission, he or she will be enrolled in our lowest high school grade, 9, and proceed from there toward a diploma.
The minimum period of enrollment for any student is the time required to earn 3 academic credits. For graduation with a diploma, 24 academic credits are required. Those credits are the total of credits earned elsewhere and credits earned at Academy Central High School. There is no calendar time requirement for the earning of 3 academic credits; that is, a student may proceed to earn them either rapidly or slowly.
There is a one-time enrollment fee of $99. That covers the costs of obtaining prior transcript(s), enrollment records, academic achievement records, and the graduation diploma and transcript when the diploma is earned.
Tuition is charged at the low rate of $67 per academic credit. Tuition is only for any necessary tutoring, testing and counseling. Tuition is NOT charged for Internet course materials. There are no books or extra materials to buy. Thus, the student is assured of a maximum expense of only $1,707 for a complete 24-credit high school diploma course. Obviously, the cost is less if fewer than 24 credits are required for completion. If a student wants to accelerate the pace of learning and achieving, a high school diploma can be fully earned in as little as 2 years time, starting in the 9th grade.
General Educational Development ,Commercial, and Vocational Instruction
Academy Central has links to a number of non-high school education sites. These sites include those having vocational study content and, in particular, the “Free-Ed Net” that provides a remarkably complete “GED” study curriculum. These sites are all linked on our “Courses” page, and you are invited to investigate them.
The E-Library
The reason that Academy Central has the largest E-library in the world is because we have linked together a number of extensive E-libraries provided by other non-profit groups and by many educational and governmental institutions. There is never any charge to anyone for using the Academy Central linked E-Library. Please note that there are many learning facilities available in the E-Library. These include language lessons, reference works, religious books, history, art, ancient and modern literature, as well as hundreds of thousands of “just plain books.”
